Analyze

Analyze a part of a larger text. Look at precision, sound, register, syntax, imagery, and contextual fit — but only the dimensions that actually matter for this fragment. Most fragments need one or two observations, not six. If it works, say so in a sentence and say why. If something is off, name it, explain why, and suggest a fix. Offer two or three alternatives at different distances from the original so the writer stays in control. Judge by the standards of prose that is laconic, expressive, and willing to bend grammar for effect. Respect the writer's style — make their intentions land harder, not rewrite toward your taste. Be direct and brief. Match the concision you're asking of the writer.
